The Aikido weapons classes are an integral part of the Winter Camp. Each day there will be Jo and Bokken classes with application to the "Shu-Ha-Ri" system. Morning Buki Waza classes will be held in the dojo as well as at the beach.
The practice of "Henka Waza" (technical variations) is the corner stone of intermediate practice. It is a critical practice structure that is required development for advanced practice. This is where the practitioner first understands complexity in Aikido and begins to create technical fluency in the art.
"Oya Waza" (applied techniques) is the entry level to advanced training. This is where you learn to apply the techniques and principles Aikido to new and unscripted situations. "Oyo Waza" is the beginning practice of applying your technical fluency into freely, appropriately, and spontaneously.
The practice of "Kaeshi Waza" (counter techniques) is the peak of advanced training. You will become more grounded in the "kaeshi waza" preliminary practices, and learn the systematic approach to this body of advanced training.
