Meditation is a higher path of physical, mentaland spiritual discipline. It is a "Path of Purification" that takes you through many challenges on the path to spiritual potential.

To face these challenges, you will need to develop spiritual capacities and competencies that support your practice. This course is the Buddha's answer to that need.

Welcome to,

"The 4 Noble Practices Of The Buddha."

The teachings of the Buddha are profound spiritual lessons for life. Lessons are succinctly captured in "The 4 Noble Truths": the truth of 1) suffering, 2) its cause, 3) its end, and 4) the path that leads to its end.

More importantly, the Buddha also prescribed 4 practices for working with these 4 noble truths:
  1. The noble practice of "acceptance"
  2. The noble practice of "relinquishment"
  3. The noble practice of "realization"
  4. The noble practice of "development"
These 4 noble practices can be succinctly stated as;

Let come, let go, let be, & let grow.

These "4 Noble Practices of the Buddha" are the cornerstones for this course.

What You'll Learn In This Course

8 Weeks  |  8 Live Meetings  |  8 Practice Modules

Module One:
The Turning Of The Wheel Of The Dharma

Upon his awakening, the Buddha set the "wheel of the Dharma turning" with his first teaching on the 4 noble truths. This set the wheel of the Dharma turning continuously for 2,500 years in an unbroken lineage of transmission.

In this module, you will learn what it means to tap into the power of the lineage of the Buddha. You will explore your own needs and set your intention for working with the 4 noble practices.

Module Two:
Why We Practice - Creating A Clarity Of Intention

"100% of the suffering in the world has its root cause in the mind. Meditation is the process of purifying the mind for overcoming suffering." Receiving the words from my teacher brought into focus the fundamental purpose of meditation practice.

In this module, you will learn the purpose of meditation in your life, and how it always comes back to the simple practice of mindfulness.

Module Three:
"Let Come" - The Noble Practice Of Acceptance

The Buddha's 1st Noble Truth is simply that suffering exists. It is an inescapable part of life, and understanding this is the beginning of any spiritual growth.

The 1st Noble Practice in relation to this truth is the practice of acceptance. In this module, you will explore the role of suffering in the transformation process and how the acceptance of this truth is fundamentally the noble practice of letting come.

Module Four:
"Let Go" - The Noble Practice Of Relinquishment

The 2nd Noble Truth of the Buddha is that suffering has a cause. Namely, the grasping and clinging nature of the mind.

The 2nd Noble Practice in relation to this truth and the practice of relinquishment. In this module, you will explore the incessant grasping and clinging in the mind, and the empowering effect of the noble practice of letting go.

Module Five:
"Let Be" - The Noble Practice Of Realization

The Buddha's 3rd Noble Truth is the truth of cessation. When the grasping and clinging mind stops, suffering also stops.

The 3rd Noble Practice in relation to this truth is the practice of realization. In this module, you will learn to recognize those moments you "realize" the dropping of suffering, and how to align with the noble practice of letting be.

Module Six:
"Let Grow" - The Noble Practice Of Development

The Buddha's 4th Noble Truth is the truth of the Path. There is a path of practice that leads to the eradication of suffering.

The 4th Noble Practice in relation to that truth is the practice of development. In this module, you will learn what exactly the conditions are for engaging a higher path of practice, and how to align with the noble practice of letting grow.

Module Seven:
Charting Your Path

Mindfulness meditation is called the "Path of Purification." All of our transformational work happens by walking that high-level path of physical, emotional, and spiritual practice.

In this module, explore the variety of developmental paths and how you can engage them with the practices of letting come, letting go, letting be, and letting grow.

Module Eight:
For All Living Beings

Upon his enlightenment, the Buddha was endowed with the twin qualities of great wisdom and great compassion. With wisdom, he sees how the 4 noble truths impact all living beings. With compassion, he taught the 4 noble practices as the path of liberation for all living beings. In this final module, you'll reflect on how the 4 noble practices guide your spiritual life. In fact, how they always have.

Besides that, Miles knows how to build a great learning community, which makes the study a wholehearted, living, and enjoyable path. If you feel inspired to bring mindfulness meditation to more people in the world, this course definitely is a great chance to learn AND practice how to do it. I highly recommend it."

"Miles is an exceptional instructor and gifted facilitator for all mental health professionals looking to enhance their clinical practice with Buddhist psychology and applied mindfulness.

Additionally, I am lucky to have found a teacher like Miles who models how to walk the talk with an emphasis on shadow work and ethics. Not only am I a more skillful psychotherapist, but my own sitting practice has blossomed under his guidance! Hands down — a ten out of ten rating!"

Michael James Miller - LCSW-BACS

"Training with Miles in his Meditation Apprenticeship Program has been an extremely enriching experience for me. His vast knowledge shows in the clarity of explanation and guidance he provides while being able to adapt the message to each person.  Furthermore, his commitment to my success has enabled me to accelerate my growth in my mindfulness practice to the point that even after a couple of months into the program I could see the benefits overflowing into my daily life.
